Somebody has paid us a bribe big enough to compromise all our principles. Finally. So we've posted a shonky video of us playing our massive hit "Suffering". You'll need headphones if you want to "enjoy" it properly.
There is exactly one small handful of tickets left for the Wild Boar gig on Saturday (see Live for details). Get in touch now if you wanna go...
People! If you wanna come and see us at the Wild Boar Night of the Musicians on Sat 21 Jan, act quick. Well over half the 50 tickets are gone already. Either contact the pub itself or get in touch with a band member to reserve a ticket (£5). If you pay in advance you can come any old time; if you just give your name and pay on the door, you must get there for 7.30 or your place may go to someone else. Music starts at 8, we'll be on about 9.45. Danny Ansell and Forgate Blues on before that. Exciting!
Thanks to all the good people who came and danced around at Wildes on Friday. We're beginning to sort out dates for 2017, so please check the "Live" section of the website on occasion, or get yourself on the mailing list if you ain't already there. Hot new single "Jump" is being mixed 'n' stuff, and with any luck will be ready for release just in time to completely miss the lucrative Christmas market.
Brilliant gig at Wildes on Friday. Thanks to Max and all who came. We're in the studio at the moment recording our song "Jump". No more live plans at the moment, but you'll be the first to know.
Busy weekend next weekend. Beth and the lads are playing a couple of 45 minute sets at the Leamington Food Festival on Saturday 10 September (12.15 and 3.45 for those of you with clocks). Then on Sunday 11th we pile into the Wapmobile and head to Ledbury in Herefordshire to play a full on boogaloo gig at the Prince of Wales, starting at 4. Then a bit of a lie down, I would imagine. Further details here.
Well the lads had a fine time in Norfolk. Hell of a drive, but well worth it for the groovy venue and highly enthusiastic new fans. Thank you Dereham Blues Festival. And now on to Worcestershire, where Beth will be joining us at the Upton Blues Festival, scene of so many past triumphs. We're on at The Swan at 12 noon on Sunday 17th July. The sun is due to shine, the river will be sparkling just in front of us, and a mighty fine time will be had by all. Do come. http://uptonbluesfestival.org.uk/
The WapWaps are off to Dereham in Norfolk this week for the annual blues festival. We'll be performing at the railway station at 9 p.m. on Friday 8 July. Here's a song that mentions a train to celebrate soundcloud.com/chicken-shed-records/train-fare-home
Very cool gig at the Zephyr Lounge last night. Only three of us in our low-fi line up, and only half an hour to play, but seemed to win a room full of new fans, so aren't we great. CW Stoneking was definitely worth watching too, and turned out to be a friendly if utterly incomprehensible guy. Extraordinary plans now being laid for the WapWaps for the rest of the year, so stay tuned gang....
